The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is gearing up for the Maha Kumbh 2025 by deploying over 7,000 dedicated UPSRTC buses to cater to the huge influx of devotees. The buses will be marked with a Maha Kumbh-2025 sticker for easy identification.

Phased Operation Plan

  • Event Duration: January 13 to February 26, 2025
  • Phases:
    • Phase 1: January 12-23
    • Phase 2: January 24-February 7
    • Phase 3: February 8-27

Key Highlights

  • Peak Days: High turnout expected on Mauni Amavasya (January 29) and other major ‘snan’ days including January 13, January 14, February 3, February 12, and February 26.
  • Bus Services: City buses will also be operational alongside the roadways buses.
  • Infrastructure:
    • Temporary bus stations and maintenance workshops at eight locations.
    • Check posts established on seven main routes: Lucknow, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Banda.
    • A 24-hour centralized control room will manage operations during the event.

Information Dissemination

  • Pamphlets: Distributed to inform devotees about bus services.
  • LED Displays: Information on mela buses will be shown at bus stations across the state.

UPSRTC’s extensive preparations aim to ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience for the millions attending the Maha Kumbh.
