As the Sharadiya Navratri approaches, the Uttar Pradesh Roadways is all set to facilitate the pilgrimage of devotees traveling between Prayagraj and Vindhyachal. This special initiative ensures a hassle-free journey for devotees visiting the famous Navratri Mela at Vindhyachal to seek blessings from Maa Vindhyawasini.
195 Buses for Sharadiya Navratri
- Daily Service: UP Roadways is running 195 buses every day between Prayagraj and Vindhyachal during the Sharadiya Navratri, which spans from October 14 to October 23.
- Vindhyachal Bus Availability: To cater to the inflow of devotees, arrangements have been made to ensure that a Vindhyachal bus departs from the Zero Road bus stand in Prayagraj every half an hour.
- Prayagraj and Varanasi Zones: During this period, 130 buses will leave for Vindhyachal from the Prayagraj zone, and 65 will depart from the Varanasi zone. Additionally, Prayagraj zone will run 25 special buses for Mirzapur, while Varanasi zone will run 40 such buses.
Enhancing Safety: Panic Buttons in Buses
- Combatting Eve-Teasing: The UPSRTC (Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation) has undertaken a new safety measure by installing panic buttons in ordinary buses, with 50 such buses to be introduced initially. This initiative aims to combat eve-teasing and enhance passenger safety, particularly for women.
- Press to Alert: Passengers, especially women, traveling in these buses can press the panic button if they feel insecure or encounter harassment by eve-teasers.
- Command Center Monitoring: A command center will be set up at the Transport Corporation headquarters to monitor the panic buttons. Staff will ensure 24-hour monitoring, and in case of an alert, the police and relevant Transport Department officials will be informed promptly.
Live Tracking and Passenger Information
- Live Tracking: Live tracking devices will also be installed in these buses, making it easy to track the location of the bus in real time.
- Passenger Information: This technology will provide valuable information about bus routes, timings, seat availability, and more, similar to services offered on trains.
