The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is set to introduce electric super luxury TSRTC buses, marking a significant step towards eco-friendly transportation in the state.
New Routes for e-Super Luxury Buses
- Routes: The electric luxury buses, branded as e-Super Luxury, will initially operate on the Karimnagar-Hyderabad and Nizamabad-Hyderabad routes.
- First Phase Rollout: A total of 35 buses have been delivered to the Karimnagar-2 depot, and 13 buses have arrived at the Nizamabad depot.
Features and Benefits
- Comfort and Sustainability: These e-Super Luxury buses aim to enhance passenger comfort while reducing the environmental impact.
- Operational Model: TSRTC is introducing these buses on a rental basis, a model that includes drivers employed by the manufacturing companies and conductors from TSRTC.
- Rental Payment: The corporation will pay rent based on the kilometers traveled, ensuring cost-efficiency.
Launch and Future Plans
- Launch Details: Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar is expected to officially launch the new electric buses soon.
- Expansion: TSRTC already operates electric buses within Hyderabad city and on interstate routes between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. This will be the first time e-Super Luxury buses are introduced in the state, further expanding the fleet of eco-friendly public transport options.
