The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is gearing up to introduce electric TSRTC buses on the Nizamabad to Hyderabad bus route. These eco-friendly buses are part of TSRTC’s efforts to provide sustainable transportation options across the state.
Launching Electric Super Luxury Buses
- New Allotments: A total of 13 electric super luxury buses have been allocated to the Nizamabad region. These buses will operate between Nizamabad and Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Secunderabad.
- Route Specifics: Due to charging requirements after every 300 km, the initial operation will focus on the Nizamabad-JBS route. However, plans are underway to expand services.
Expansion Plans
- Additional Buses: TSRTC Nizamabad Regional Manager Johny Reddy mentioned that 30 new electric express buses will soon be operational in the region. These buses will serve multiple routes, including other areas beyond Hyderabad.
- Charging Facilities: Currently, charging stations are available in Karimnagar and Warangal. TSRTC is considering additional routes like Nizamabad-Karimnagar-Warangal to accommodate the charging infrastructure.
Fare and Accessibility
- Fare Consistency: The fare for these electric buses will be the same as for existing diesel buses, ensuring affordability for passengers.
Sustainable Travel
This initiative is part of TSRTC’s broader mission to introduce environmentally friendly travel options in Telangana, enhancing both convenience and sustainability for passengers.
