TSRTC Bus Pass 2024: Apply for Telangana Student Bus Pass
T

TSRTC introduces new bus pass schemes for 2024, offering affordable travel options for students in Telangana. Despite financial challenges, the corporation aims to provide accessible transportation for all.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced the new student bus pass schemes for 2024, aiming to provide affordable travel options for students across the state. Despite the introduction of a “diesel cess” to mitigate financial losses, the corporation continues to face significant daily deficits. Here are the details of the various student bus pass schemes available for the upcoming academic year.

TSRTC’s Financial Challenges

TSRTC operates 9,384 corporate buses and 2,909 rented buses, transporting approximately 42 lakh individuals daily. Despite earning around Rs 13 crore each day from ticket and bus pass sales, the corporation incurs daily maintenance costs of Rs 18 crore, resulting in a daily loss of Rs 4-4.5 crores. The diesel cess has increased revenue by roughly Rs 50 lakhs but has not significantly alleviated the financial strain.
