The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is all set to operate 6,000 special TSRTC buses during the Bathukamma and Dasara festivals from October 1 to 15. This initiative aims to accommodate the increased travel demand as people return to their hometowns for the celebrations.
Extensive Coverage Across Hyderabad
- Special buses will operate from various key locations in Hyderabad, including:
- MGBS
- JBS
- LB Nagar
- Uppal
- Aramghar
- KPHB
- Santosh Nagar
- Buses will also be available to Vijayawada, Bangalore, and other destinations via the Gachibowli ORR for IT Corridor employees.
Anticipating Increased Traffic
- TSRTC Managing Director Sajjanar highlighted that this year’s festivities may see more traffic than last year due to the Mahalakshmi scheme implementation.
- Increased traffic is expected on October 9, 10, and 11, as the main Dasara celebration occurs on October 12.

- The TSRTC will provide advance reservation facilities for all special buses during the festive season.
- Special services will connect destinations within Telangana and neighboring states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
Facilities for Travelers
- Officials are instructed to set up:
- Public address systems
- Tents and seating areas
- Drinking water stations
- These facilities will be primarily located in congested areas like LB Nagar, Uppal, Aramghar, KPHB, and Santosh Nagar.
Commitment to Eco-Friendly Travel
- In a bid to promote environmentally friendly transportation, TSRTC plans to utilize new electric super luxury buses on routes to Karimnagar and Nizamabad.
