The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) Vellore zone is set to boost weekend travel by introducing 30 additional special buses, providing improved connectivity between Chennai and various destinations in Vellore, Hosur, Tirupattur, and Dharmapuri.
Meeting the Weekend Demand
- TNSTC Vellore zone anticipates increased demand during weekends and has decided to address it with special buses.
- Starting July 29, 30 additional special buses will operate from Chennai’s Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G.R. Bus Terminus to various destinations.
Enhanced Connectivity
- Special buses will run every Saturday and Sunday from Chennai to Vellore, Hosur, Tirupattur, and Dharmapuri.
- The new bus terminus on Katpadi Road, off Chennai-Bengaluru Highway, will also have special buses operating between Vellore and Bengaluru.
- Similarly, special buses will be available from Vellore Bus Terminus to Chennai, Bengaluru, and Tambaram.
Supervised Operations
- Special squads will oversee the smooth operation of these buses, ensuring efficient and hassle-free travel for passengers.
- The introduction of special buses comes in response to the Aadi festival, with five additional buses scheduled from Vellore to Vettavalam and Padavedu villages in Tiruvannamalai.
