The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) Kumbakonam Division has announced the launch of a special weekend tour covering six prominent Murugan temples in the Delta region, starting this month. This initiative is aimed at providing devotees with an organized pilgrimage experience similar to the popular Navagraha temple tour.
Details of the Murugan Temple Tour
The weekend tour will cover the following temples:
- Sri Singaravelar Temple, Sikkal
- Sri Kandhaswamy Temple, Poravacherry
- Sri Subramaniyaswamy Temple, Ettukudi (Nagapattinam district)
- Aadhi Swaminathaswamy Temple, Eragaram (near Kumbakonam)
- Sri Swaminathaswamy Temple, Swamimalai (Thanjavur district)
- Sri Subramaniyaswamy Temple, Enkan (Tiruvarur district)
Tour Schedule
- The tour will operate every Saturday and Sunday.
- It will start and end in Kumbakonam.
- The launch is expected by the third week of October.
Collaboration with HR & CE Department
A consultative meeting was held on October 1 with officials from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department to ensure the success of the tour. The cooperation extended during the Navagraha temple tour is being utilized for this Murugan temple pilgrimage.
