The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) Kumbakonam division is set to operate an additional 250 special bus services to cater to the heightened weekend demand between September 23 and 25. These special buses will connect various towns and cities within the region, including Trichy, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, and Mayiladuthurai.
100 Special Buses from Trichy to Surrounding Areas
Around 100 special buses will be operated from Trichy, serving destinations such as Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Nagapattinam, and Velankanni.
150 Special Buses for Inter-City Connectivity
For routes connecting towns and cities outside the Kumbakonam division, TNSTC has allocated 150 special buses. These buses will facilitate travel between Karaikudi, Madurai, and Coimbatore.
Increased Services to Chennai
Anticipating a surge in demand for Chennai-bound buses from September 24 to 26, TNSTC has allocated an additional 150 special buses to connect Chennai with Trichy and other towns and cities within the region.
Enhanced Mofussil Routes
TNSTC has also allocated 100 special buses for Mofussil routes connecting cities within the division, including Velankanni, Kumbakonam, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, and Mayiladuthurai. These buses will be in service on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
TNSTC officials have stated that they will closely monitor route demands and adjust the special bus services accordingly to ensure efficient transportation for passengers.
This initiative by TNSTC aims to cater to the increased travel requirements during weekends and facilitate convenient transportation options for commuters in the region.
