TNSTC introduces 6 new buses in Coimbatore, enhancing city transport. These buses offer affordable fares and are part of TNSTC's fleet modernization.

TNSTC has launched six new buses in Coimbatore, replacing damaged ones. These buses will operate on various routes in the city, offering affordable transport options for commuters. Here’s what you need to know:

TNSTC New Bus Routes

  • Sivananda Colony to Sivananda Colony (Route No. 5 and No. 5C)
  • Vadavalli to Ondiputhur (Route No. 1C)
  • Press Colony to Railway Station (Route No. 32)
  • SITRA to Perur (Route No. 2)

TNSTC New Buses Fare Details

  • Ordinary bus fare for all passengers.
  • Designated as fare-free buses for women.
  • Minimum ticket fare for others is ₹5.

Other Initiatives

  • TNSTC is replacing mofussil buses, converting old ones into city buses.
  • Plans to replace 120 deluxe buses with new low-floor buses.
  • Introducing UPI facilities for passengers to purchase tickets, aiming for cashless transactions.
  • Electronic ticket machines will be provided to conductors for credit and debit card, and UPI payments.
  • Condemnation of buses after 12 lakh km or nine years of service, whichever comes earlier.

This move is part of TNSTC’s efforts to enhance public transport services and provide a comfortable travel experience for commuters in Coimbatore.
