In a bid to ensure seamless travel for devotees planning to visit the famous Sundara Mahalingam Temple atop Sathuragiri Hills, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has announced special bus services. As the auspicious Aadi Ammavasai festival approaches, these dedicated services are set to provide convenience and accessibility for devotees from various parts of the district.
Facilitating Devotees Journey
With the Aadi Ammavasai festival scheduled from August 12 to August 17, TNSTC has taken proactive steps to support the influx of pilgrims flocking to the Sundara Mahalingam Temple. Special buses will ply to cater to the transportation needs of the devotees, making their journey smoother and more accessible during this significant event.
Regulated Hill Climb and Facility Arrangements
During the festival, devotees are permitted to ascend the hills between 6 am and 12 pm. To enhance the overall experience, temporary bus stands will be established to facilitate the parking of vehicles. The District Collector, V P Jeyaseelan, emphasized that arrangements have been made to ensure devotees’ adherence to regulations, including not staying at the temple premises during the night hours.
Combatting Plastic Pollution
A notable aspect of this year’s arrangements is the emphasis on environmental responsibility. Plastic items are strictly prohibited within the temple premises. The district administration, led by Collector Jeyaseelan, aims to educate the public about the harmful effects of plastic products. Cloth bags that are environmentally friendly will be provided to visitors, promoting sustainability and reducing pollution.
Sanitation Initiatives and Amenities
To maintain cleanliness and hygiene at the foothills of Thaaniparai, sanitary workers will be appointed to manage waste disposal effectively. Drinking water facilities will be available for devotees, and a medical team, comprising doctors and medical personnel, will be present to provide immediate first-aid treatment. Ambulance services will also be on standby to address any medical emergencies.
Ensuring Safety and Crowd Management
Anticipating a significant turnout of devotees from various parts of Tamil Nadu, the local police will implement necessary safety measures and crowd regulation strategies. These measures aim to ensure the well-being of all attendees while allowing them to partake in the festivities without any inconvenience or concerns.
As the Aadi Ammavasai festival approaches, TNSTC’s special bus services stand as a testament to their commitment to fostering a seamless and spiritually enriching experience for devotees visiting the Sundara Mahalingam Temple. With enhanced convenience, safety, and environmental consciousness, this year’s festival promises to be a memorable and meaningful occasion for all who attend.
