On Thursday, Tamil Nadu’s transport infrastructure saw a boost as Minister for Higher Education, K. Ponmudy, and Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-resident Tamils Welfare, Gingee K.S. Masthan, inaugurated 25 new TNSTC buses at a ceremony held at the municipal grounds in Villupuram. The event was attended by District Collector C. Palani and senior officials from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC).
Expansion of the Fleet
- Fleet Enhancement: This new addition is part of a larger plan to expand the Villupuram TNSTC fleet. For the year 2023-24, 371 buses have been sanctioned. Currently, 227 of these vehicles are already operational.
- Improved Connectivity: The new buses are expected to enhance connectivity within the Villupuram division, improving public transport access and convenience for commuters.
