The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has recently made changes to its RSRTC bus services between Udaipur and Jodhpur due to the termination of the contract for 9 Scania luxury buses. These buses, which were popular for their comfort and convenience, have been replaced by standard 2×2 AC buses until further notice.
Key Service Changes
- Discontinued Luxury Buses: The Scania luxury buses previously offered three daily departures from both Udaipur and Jodhpur.
- Current Standard Services: RSRTC has replaced these buses with standard 2×2 AC buses to ensure uninterrupted service between the two cities.
Previous Scania Bus Timings
- Udaipur to Jodhpur: Departures were at 6:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 4:00 PM.
- Jodhpur to Udaipur: Departures were at 6:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 4:00 PM.
Ongoing Scania Service
Despite the termination of the contract, one Scania luxury bus continues to operate on a different route, running from Jaisalmer to Udaipur via Jodhpur at 6:30 AM.
Demand for Luxury Bus Services
There is significant demand for luxury bus services on the Udaipur-Jodhpur route, especially since there is no direct rail service connecting the two cities. With the upcoming festive season, the demand for luxury travel is expected to rise further.
Future Plans
According to Amitesh Yadav, Chief General Manager of the Deluxe Depot, the Scania luxury buses will return to service after undergoing necessary maintenance. The buses are due for servicing after reaching the 15 lakh kilometers mark as per their contract requirements.

- Luxury Buses to Resume Soon: RSRTC assures passengers that luxury buses will be back in service soon, after necessary repairs.
