The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is set to add four more 45-seater electric buses to its fleet for the Nashik–Borivali route by mid-July. This move comes in response to the high demand for bus services on this route. Here are the key details:
- Enhanced Service: The addition of these buses will bolster MSRTC’s services between Nashik and Borivali, meeting the rising demand for transportation.
- Existing Fleet: Currently, MSRTC operates 19 e-buses, including 10 35-seater buses. Six of these are on the Nashik–Borivali route, and the remaining four serve the Nashik-Saptashrungi Gad route.
- Improved Connectivity: The new buses will improve the frequency of buses between Nashik and Borivali, offering a direct connection that was previously lacking.
- Traveler Feedback: Commuters like Rajesh Shinde prefer the e-buses for their trips to Borivali or Pune, highlighting the comfort and convenience of this mode of transport.
- Sustainability: With the ability to travel up to 250km on a single charge, these e-buses contribute to a cleaner and greener environment, aligning with sustainability goals.
The MSRTC’s initiative to expand its e-bus fleet signifies a step towards enhancing public transport and meeting the evolving needs of commuters in the region.
