The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has launched four new air-conditioned electric buses in the Nashik division, now operating between Nashik city and Trimbakeshwar, and Saptashrungi Gad. These e-buses, introduced to enhance eco-friendly travel options, cater to both intra and inter-district transportation needs.
E-Bus Deployment and Schedule
- Morning Routes: The new e-buses begin their day on the Trimbakeshwar route, operating from 5 AM to 2 PM.
- Evening Routes: After a crew change and recharging, the buses switch to the Saptashrungi Gad route due to high demand.
Route and Capacity Details
- Trimbakeshwar Route: The fare is Rs 65 per person, with a 50% concession for women as per government policy. These buses are in high demand among pilgrims and daily commuters.
- Saptashrungi Gad Route: The fare is Rs 170 per person, compared to Rs 115 on ordinary buses. The evening service caters to the needs of passengers returning from Saptashrungi Gad.

Enhanced Passenger Experience
The introduction of these electric buses is part of MSRTC’s commitment to providing a more comfortable and environmentally friendly travel experience. These buses are expected to meet the growing demand for sustainable public transport in the region.
Future Plans
MSRTC officials are optimistic about the positive response to these new services and plan to continue expanding the e-bus fleet to cover more routes, thereby reducing carbon emissions and promoting greener transportation options.
