The sacred Sabarimala Temple in Kerala is preparing for the much-anticipated ‘Tula Masam’ puja, commencing on October 17 at 5 p.m. This festival includes special pujas and rituals, and to accommodate the surge of devotees, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is launching special bus services. Here are the details:

Tula Masam Puja and Festive Dates

  • Festival Commencement: The Sabarimala Temple will open its doors for the ‘Tula Masam’ puja on October 17 at 5 p.m. During this time, the chief priest, Tantri Mahesh Mohan, will officiate the auspicious door-opening ceremony.
  • Closing Date: The temple festivities will conclude on October 22 at 10 p.m., allowing devotees to participate in special pujas such as Udayasthamaya Puja, Kalabhabhishekam, Pushpabhishekam, and Padi Puja.

KSRTC’s Special Services

  • Travel Arrangements: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has made comprehensive travel arrangements to facilitate the pilgrimage to Sabarimala during the ‘Tula Masam’ puja. These services will operate from October 18 to October 22.
  • Pre-Booking Facilities: For the convenience of pilgrims, KSRTC has confirmed that pre-booking services are available.
  • Multiple Departure Points: Devotees can avail themselves of these special bus services from major bus stations in Kerala, including Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottarakkara, Erumeli, and Chengannur.
  • Expanded Services: To manage the expected rush of passengers, the Thiruvananthapuram Central Depot has introduced special buses and pre-booking facilities. Additionally, in case of congestion, passengers can utilize services from adjacent units to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey.
