To address the travel challenges faced by coastal residents, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced a new bus service between Alappuzha and Ernakulam via the coastal road. The service was officially flagged off by MLA P.P. Chitharanjan on Friday.
KSRTC Alappuzha to Ernakulam Bus Details
- Inauguration Date: Service flagged off on Friday
- Operational Date: Services start on Saturday
- Departure from Alappuzha: 6.30 a.m. and 7.20 a.m.
- Departure from Ernakulam: 4.20 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.
Reason for Launch
The introduction of these services comes after Mr. Chitharanjan brought the issue to the attention of Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar. The goal is to alleviate the travel difficulties caused by the ongoing widening of National Highway 66, which has significantly impacted daily commuters.
