The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to launch new hybrid sleeper-cum-seater buses on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod route. This initiative aims to provide enhanced travel comfort and attract more passengers.
Phase One Rollout
- Two hybrid buses, one AC, and one non-AC, will be deployed in the first phase.
- Procured using funds from employees’ deposits under the KSRTC-SWIFT (centralized operations of long-distance buses).

- Employees who contributed a security deposit during joining will receive a share of the generated profits from the service.

Expansion through Private Participation
- KSRTC-SWIFT plans to expand its fleet through private participation.
- The utility will invite expressions of interest from private individuals to run buses jointly.
- Interested parties can provide buses to the corporation, earning proportional income from revenue.
