Operational Model and Requirements
KSRTC will adopt a Gross Cost Contract model for a 12-year duration:
- Lease Model: KSRTC will provide the conductor, while a private firm will hire drivers, operate and maintain the buses, and establish charging infrastructure.
- Payment: The private firm will be paid on a per km basis.
- Daily Operation: Each bus must operate at least 250 km daily and can cover up to 180 km on a single charge.
Safety and Comfort Features
- Equipped with CCTVs, panic buttons, dash cameras, and other safety features to enhance passenger security.
Expanding the Fleet
- Diesel Buses: KSRTC has invited tenders for 70 BS-VI diesel fully built non-AC sleeper coaches and 30 seater-cum-sleeper coaches to diversify their fleet.
