Background and Suspension

  • Launch and Suspension: The bus service, launched on July 2, was suspended on July 15 after a terror attack in Doda.
  • Temporary Route Change: For 10 days, the bus operated only from Chamba to Langera, a village on the Himachal-J&K border.

Resumption of Service

  • Stabilization and Resumption: With the situation stabilizing, the service has now been fully resumed till Doda.
  • HRTC Statement: HRTC Regional Manager, Chamba, Shugal Singh, confirmed the resumption.

Bus Service Details

  • Fare: The one-way fare from Chamba to Doda is Rs 326 per person.
  • Schedule:
    • Departure from Chamba: Daily at 6:30 am, reaching Doda at 4:25 pm.
    • Return Journey: Departs from Doda at 9:30 am, reaching Chamba by 6:30 pm after an overnight halt.

Importance of the Service

  • Facilitating Devotees: The bus service primarily benefits Lord Shiva devotees in Bhaderwah, who otherwise had to walk to Manimahesh for the annual yatra in August.

The resumption of the Chamba-Doda bus service is a significant step in restoring normalcy and providing essential transport connectivity for residents and devotees in the region.
