Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC buses) has resumed bus services via Old Junga after a hiatus of approximately 35 days. The decision to restart the service was welcomed by many, including social worker Pankaj Sen and former BDC member Seema Sen.
HRTC Old Juna Route Buses Previous Suspension
- The bus service was suspended following an incident on March 25, during Holi celebrations, where miscreants attacked the driver and conductor of an HRTC bus.
- Subsequently, HRTC halted bus operations on various routes via Old Junga until local representatives took responsibility for the safety of staff.
Public Reaction
- Pankaj Sen and others criticized the suspension, stating that it inconvenienced residents, especially senior citizens and school children, as the distance between Bus Stand Junga and Old Junga is about two kilometers.
- The residents raised their concerns with the Transport Minister, leading to the reinstatement of bus services on this route.
The resumption of bus services on the Old Junga route by HRTC comes as a relief to residents and restores an essential transportation link in the area.
