Approval from the Chief Minister
Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma revealed that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has given the green light to the proposal of offering complimentary bus rides to women on Raksha Bandhan. This decision is aligned with the state government’s efforts to promote gender equality and provide women with convenient and safe travel options.
Continuing a Tradition of Kindness
For several years now, the Transport Department of Haryana has extended the gesture of free travel to women on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Minister Sharma assured that this year would be no different, and women, along with their children aged up to 15 years, can enjoy the privilege of cost-free bus rides. The free travel facility will be available from 12 noon on August 29 to 12 midnight on August 30.
The free travel opportunity is applicable across ordinary and standard buses, ensuring that women can choose their preferred mode of transportation for their Rakhi celebrations. This initiative not only signifies a token of appreciation for women but also encourages families to partake in the festivities together, fostering a sense of togetherness.
