Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with Speaker Shankar Chaudhary and cabinet ministers, inaugurated 70 new ST buses by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The new service aims to benefit citizens visiting the Sachivalaya and improve public transportation in the state.
GSRTC New ST Buses Key Points
- Improved Connectivity: The new ST buses will connect Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, benefiting about 5,000 people working in offices across both cities.
- Sachivalaya Point Service: The service will also cater to regular citizens from across the state who visit the Secretariat for business or presentations.
- Enhancing Passenger Convenience: The Gujarat government plans to acquire new buses annually to enhance passenger convenience, providing financial assistance to the corporation.
- Budget Allocation: In the budget allocation for 2022-23 and 2023-24, a total of 2,812 new vehicles, including Super Express, Gurjar Nagri, and Sleeper Coaches, will be introduced for passenger service. Among these, 70 buses have been inaugurated for the Sachivalay Point service for Rs 26 crores.
- Previous Deployments: Under the guidance of Minister of State for Transport Harsh Sanghvi, the ST Corporation has already deployed 1520 new buses for public service in the past 14 months, with plans for more such services in the future.
