Khairatabad Ganesh

The statue of Khairatabad Ganesha 2023 is one of the tallest Ganesh statues. Khairatabad Ganesh Pandal was first established by Singari Shankaraiah with 1 foot tall statue in 1954. Increasing size by 1 foot every year until 2014. The idol’s height reached its peak of 61 feet in 2019. On the last day of celebration, the idol is submerged in Hussain Sagar. Considering environmental and safety measures while Khairatabad Ganesh Nimarjan Utsav committee decided to stop increasing the size. Every year thousands of devotees visit the place and worship Lord Ganesha during the festival celebrations. The idol is located on 1.5 acre of land and is the famous Ganesh mandals in Hyderabad. How to Reach Khairatabad Ganesh

Khairatabad metro station is the nearest metro station to reach the place. It’s a 700 m walk from the station. Also, the place is well connected with local transport. 

Balapur Ganesha

Balapur Ganesha has been famous for Laddu auctions since 1994. Kolan Mohan Reddy was the first devotee to win the first auction and got laddu for 450 rupees. From then the laddu has crossed the seven figure mark. In 2019 21 kgs laddu was auctioned for 17.60 lakhs. Every year hundreds of devotees take part in the auction. It is believed that the person who wins the auction will have a fortune of good luck.

The huge laddu is made from pure ghee and dry fruits and placed on a silver bowl near the hand of Ganesha. The Laddu auction is a rich tradition of Hyderabad and organized by many pooja committees in the city. The auction starts on the last day of celebrations followed by Ganesh visarjan.

How to Reach Balapur

Balapur is a little bit far from the city, so the metro will be the preferred mode of transport. The nearest station is Malakpet metro station and Malakpet MMTS. From Malakpet the place is 11 km which you can easily reach by local bus or auto rickshaw.

The festival of Vinayaka Chavathi is celebrated on Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturdashi according to the Hindu Calendar. The festival occurs between August – September months. It is a ten-day festival celebrated by people across the world. Mostly on Anant Chaturdashi the 11th day Ganesh Visarjan takes place. Huge Ganesha idols are immersed in water. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation GHMC set up many spots for the event.

Hussain Sagar Lake is a prominent place in Hyderabad where hundreds of Ganesh idols are immersed. Thousands of people come to visit the visarjan and bid adieu to huge Ganesh pandals in Hyderabad until next year. After the event, the Lake is cleaned and restored from the immersion of idols. How to Reach Hussain Sagar

Hussain Sagar is easily accessible from any place in the city. It is well connected with the metro, MMTS, and bus services. But when you are traveling to witness the Visarjan event it is preferable to walk around. You need to be prepared for the traffic and roadblocks. 

New Nagole Ganapati

There are over 60,000 Ganesh pandals set up with different models of Ganesh idols. But the Nagole pandal is one of the most prominent pandals in Hyderabad.
