In anticipation of the Sankranti festival season, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has announced a robust plan to operate 6,795 special bus services. The services will be available from January 6 to 14 and then resume from January 16 to 18, aiming to facilitate the increased travel demand during this festive period.
APSRTC Sankranti Special Bus Services Details
Before the Festival (January 6 to 14): A total of 3,570 bus services
- 1,600 buses from Hyderabad
- 250 buses from Bangalore
- 40 buses from Chennai
- 300 buses from Vijayawada
- 290 buses from Visakhapatnam
- 230 buses from Rajamahendravaram
- 70 buses from Tirupati
After the Festival (January 16 to 18): A total of 3,225 bus services
APSRTC Sankranti Special Bus Ticket Discounts
To further encourage travelers during the Sankranti festival, APSRTC is offering a 10% discount on ticket bookings for the special bus services. Despite the additional services, normal fares will be collected, showcasing the corporation’s commitment to providing affordable and convenient travel options.
Advanced Reservation and Festival Rush
Advance reservations for all normal bus services from January 10 to 13 have already been completed. In response to the festival rush, APSRTC has decided to run special bus services to accommodate the increased demand. The 10% concession on tickets for both ways aims to make the festival travel experience more economical for passengers.
Strategic Income Boost
APSRTC Managing Director, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, highlighted that the corporation’s decision to collect normal charges for special buses has proven to be a successful initiative.
