The Andhra Pradesh State Government, led by Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, has announced plans to purchase 800 new APSRTC buses by the end of this year. This initiative aims to improve transportation connectivity between small towns, villages, and major destinations across the state.
- Inauguration of New Buses: On Sunday, Minister Reddy, alongside Rajamahendravaram City MLA Adireddy Vasu and Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, inaugurated 23 new buses at the Rajamahendravaram city bus station. These buses will operate in the erstwhile East Godavari and West Godavari districts, enhancing local transit options.
- Electric Buses: The government is also set to introduce electric buses to promote eco-friendly transportation, though the exact number has not been disclosed.
APSRTC Employee Welfare
In his address to APSRTC employees, Minister Reddy criticized the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) administration for neglecting employee welfare following the merger of APSRTC with the State government. He promised to prioritize the revival and welfare of APSRTC employees under the current administration.
- Commitment to Employee Welfare: The Minister vowed to address previous shortcomings and ensure better growth and welfare for APSRTC staff moving forward.
These steps are expected to significantly improve public transportation infrastructure and employee conditions in Andhra Pradesh.
